Summary0000457: User Can Bid Against Themselves
DescriptionThis is an actual issue in one of my current auctions. I had my Bidder Privacy set so that users were not able to identify each other. Bidder 1 placed a minimum bid of 99 cents on an auction. Several days later, not realizing she was the high bidder, she placed another bid on the same auction at the next correct increment. The bid was accepted and instead of being added as a proxy bid, her current bid was raised to the new amount. I did some testing and if I place a minimum bid on an auction and decide to go back and enter a much higher bid, to be a proxy bid in case I'm not available at the end of the auction, the current bid is incorrectly raised to the next increment.

Can anyone suggest a fix that would check to see if user is currently the high bidder and, if so, would add the new bid as a proxy bid only.
