|Summary||0000058: Apostrophe in auction Description field produces error|
This is from http://www.webidsupport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1006" [^" title="]a thread">]a thread started by someone else but no follow-up to here for bug report and I just retested and it persists.
If you enter an apostrophe ( ' ) in the description block for a new listing you receive an humongous error message once you clicked the confirmed link. Error ends with:
Someone wroteThe error occurs after the auction is submitted successfully and you click the auction link after confirmation. Auction shows up in users panel and on site but clicking it on the site also brings the error.
He's the greatest
%' You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's the greatest%'' at line 2 page:SITE/includes/banners.inc.php line:56 ) An unexpected error occurred. Please report to the administrator at
If you put it in the description and get the error and then you go back to edit (via users panel, can't get to it obviously by clicking on it on the site even though it does get placed) and put in the escape character (\') and process the auction again it will work.
You do not get this error with an apostrophe in the Title field.
